180209-N-TI567-004 STENNIS SPACE CENTER, Miss. -- International students participating in the Naval Small Craft Instruction and Technical Training School's Outboard Motor Maintenance and Overhaul course for Class 18-2 complete a practical exercise at NAVSCIATTS' facilities on the John C. Stennis Space Center in Mississippi.
Student's participating in this semester's OBM course are representing the countries of Lebanon, Sierra Leone, Bulgaria, Suriname and Trinidad & Tobago.
OBM is an eight-week course of instruction that provides selected security force personnel with the basic skills to maintain and repair marine outboard engines. Course topics include human rights, engineering fundamentals, internal combustion engine theory, electrical systems, fuel systems, gear case, mid-section, and power head.
NAVSCIATTS is a Security Cooperation schoolhouse operating under U.S. Special Operations Command, “where the classroom meets the field,” in support of Foreign Security Assistance and Geographic Combatant Commanders’ Theater Security Cooperation priorities.
