Former Marine Cpl. AJ Czubai reflects on the battle buddy he lost during the Afghanistan War with Sgt. Kiran Thitte. Both Czubai and Thitte honor the memory of their fallen brothers by wearing memorial bracelets engraved with their names. Czubai and his wife, Melissa, are the focal points in BASETRACK Live, a two-person show that tells the story of Czubai’s 2010 deployment with the 1st Battalion, 8th Marines to Afghanistan’s Helmand Province. The story centers around the couple as they both try to readjust and cope to post-deployment challenges, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), marriage difficulties, alcohol abuse and suicide.
