Armed Forces of the Philippines members help the Honorable John McHugh, U.S. secretary of the Army plant a tree during his visit to a Joint Special Operations Task Force-Philippines outstation on the island of Sulu. During his 2-day visit to the Philippines, McHugh also met with members of the U.S. Embassy, USAID Director Gloria Steele, WESTMINCOM Commander Lt. Gen Raymundo Ferrer, and JSOTF-P Commander Capt. Robert Gusentine, to discuss the strategic Philippine/U.S. partnership and the importance of the "3D" approach - diplomacy, development, and defense to combat terrorism and promote peace and stability in Mindanao.
