Legere was nominated and won the DAISY Award for Extraordinary Nurses for care she provided to patients. NHP expanded the award to include corpsmen. Corpsmen are an integral part of health care in Navy Medicine and work side by side with nurses and doctors to provide care to patients. DAISY is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune System and award is a national program to recognize exceptional nurses.
