SOUTH CHINA SEA (Nov. 6, 2017) U.S. Marines prepare to launch an F/A-18C Hornet, from the “Death Rattlers” of Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 323, on the flight deck aboard the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz (CVN 68), Nov. 6, 2017, in the South China Sea. The Nimitz Carrier Strike Group is on a regularly scheduled deployment in the 7th Fleet area of responsibility in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts.
