180104-N-XT039-100 SASEBO (Jan. 4, 2018) Officers assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) visit the engine room of the Royal Fleet Auxiliary fast fleet tanker RFA Tidesurge (A138) during a ship tour. Bonhomme Richard Sailors visited Tidesurge to learn about the ship’s functions and capabilities, and to enhance relationships between the U.S. and U.K. naval forces.Bonhomme Richard, forward-deployed to Sasebo, Japan, is serving forward to provide a rapid-response capability in the event of a regional contingency or natural disaster.
