Minneapolis police, health and human services, the Red Cross and many other agencies work together to assist more than 400 people that were displaced by a tornado that went through the neighborhood Sunday night, May 23. The N.E. Minneapolis Armory, the home of the Minnesota National Guards 84th Troop Command, became the center of operations and the temporary home to the displaced residents. Staff Sgt. Nelson M. L. Moore Sr. and a Minneapolis Distaster Team Repsonse member put out food for the residents. Before the first 24 hours was over the Red Cross served over 600 meals.
