Sgt. Zachary Smith, an Ohio Army National Guard medic participating in the PAMBALA 2017 exercise, plays soccer with a member of the Angolan Armed Forces Dec. 13, 2017, in the village of Ceramica, Bengo Province, Angola. By participating in this trilateral medical engagement alongside the Angolan and Serbian Armed Forces, the Ohio National Guard is gaining real-world experience and training on tropical diseases while also providing valuable coaching and mentorship on disease management and containment.
