171210-N-ZS023-016 MANAMA, Kingdom of Bahrain (Dec. 10, 2017) Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Robert Sofge, Director, Combined Joint Operations Center – Baghdad and Deputy Commanding General – Operations, Combined Joint Force Land Component Command (CJFLCC), Commander, Joint Task Force (CJTF), is saluted by side boys upon his arrival to the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6) during the ship’s scheduled port visit to Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain. America is the flagship for the America Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
