    171209-N-ZS023-015 ARABIAN GULF (Dec. 9, 2017) Electrician’s Mate 1st Class William Isom, a native of Lancaster, Calif., and Electrician’s Mate 1st Class Tamara Braxton, a New York native, both assigned to the engineering department aboard the amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), sketch an outline for refurbished coils to be installed in a refrigerator compressor motor in the rewind shop. America is the flagship for the America Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of maritime security operations to reassure allies and partners and preserve the freedom of navigation and the free flow of commerce in the region.
