171129-N-NR803-011 – The “smart” prescription basket in use at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) carries a specific radio frequency (RF) signature used to link a patient’s medications to the basket, which ensures correct placement and tracking of their medication. NMCP is one of the first Navy treatment facilities to use these cabinets that increase patient safety and improve the pharmacy’s dispensing efficiency.
