Lance Cpl. Andrew L. Haskenhoff, a 21-year-old machine gunner with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, prepares to kiss his girlfriend, Dani Arnold, during the battalion's homecoming at the 53 Area parade deck, May 11. The homecoming brought back the third batch of more than 250 warriors of 2/1 from their seven-month deployment in Garmsir district, Helmand province, Afghanistan. The battalion holds the best improvised explosive device-find rate of any Marine unit. They detected/diffused 96 percent of more than 400 IEDs they encountered during their tour. Haskenhoff is from West Union, Iowa.
