Senior Master Sgt. Ed Ferguson, security forces specialist with the 183rd Wing, Springfield, Ill., assists with a water and food drop off in the hilly community of Villa Realidad [Reality Village], south of Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, Nov. 30, 2017.
The hills in the town would prove to be a challenge as the military members hand-carried, door-to-door, cases of water and 20-pound care packages to the homes following Hurricane Maria.
Still without electrical power since the hurricane struck the island, this day would also prove to be the first time the community would be delivered a truckload of potable water to be distributed through the plumbing systems into their homes.
