A Craven County School District counselor shoots an M240B light machinegun simulator during a demonstration at Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, N.C., Nov. 29, 2017. Counselors from the school district came to the air station to learn about and participate in demonstrations from 2nd Low Altitude Air Defense Battalion, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing. One of 2nd LAAD’s primary missions is to maintain a primary capability as a highly mobile, man-portable surface-to-air weapons component of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force with the ability to rapidly deploy ashore in the assault echelon of an expeditionary operation.
