Lt. Col. Michael Western, commander of the Wisconsin Air National Guard’s 128th Air Control Squadron, speaks to his unit as well as families and friends during a homecoming ceremony Nov. 20 at Volk Field, Wis. The unit, which manages military air traffic, deployed May 12 to support the 727th Expeditionary Air Control Squadron in Southwest Asia. While deployed, they supported air combat missions for Operations Freedom’s Sentinel and Inherent Resolve.
