Sgt. Joyce Ramirez was the president of Cherry Point’s Single Marine Program for the past two years, in addition to being an assistant warehouse chief for Marine Aircraft Group 14. She received a plaque for her service at the Single Marine Program’s volunteer appreciation event at Cunningham’s. Ramirez said that volunteering helped her cope with being away from her family for long periods of time.
