Combat Outpost Shukvani, Afghanistan, is located east of Sangin, on a plateau overlooking the city. Marines such as Cpl. Derrik Nixon, a Cincinnati native with 1st Platoon, Engineer Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 8, 2nd Marine Logistics Group (Forward), worked to expand COP Shukvani from April 18-30.
