PATTAYA CITY, Thailand (Nov. 19, 2017) Cmdr. Frank Walter, commanding officer of the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Pinckney (DDG 91), stands in front of the Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya City, Thailand, with Australian and Thai navy representatives. Pinckney’s crew visited Thailand to participate in the 50th anniversary celebration of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Pinckney is part of the Nimitz Carrier Strike Group on a regularly scheduled deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of responsibility in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts.
