INDIAN OCEAN – Petty Officer 2nd class Kevin Terront, a hospital corpsman with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, provides assistance to Petty Officer 1st class Morgan Gensen, a simulated casualty, during a casualty evacuation drill aboard amphibious assault ship USS America (LHA 6), Aug. 30, 2017. Medical personnel specifically trained to provide medical care in flight improve the survivability rate of service members who sustain a traumatic injury. The 15th MEU and America Amphibious Ready Group are operating in the 7th Fleet area of operations to enhance partnerships and serve as a ready-response capability for any type of contingency.
