Firefighters assigned to the 673d Civil Engineer Squadron took the opportunity to train following the acceptance test of a new High Expansion Foam (HEF) fire suppression system at Hangar 18 on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska, Aug. 31, 2017. Once the acceptance test was concluded, firefighters experimented with moving the HEF agent with ultra-high pressure water streams to develop improved methods needed to quickly locate and rescue personnel should they become entrapped in the foam.
