Lance Cpl. Leovarado Garcia, a motor vehicle operator with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, resurfaces for air during mandatory Shallow Water Egress Training at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 7, 2017. CLB-31, the Logistics Combat Element of the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, specializes in a variety of combat and non-combat missions supporting all elements of the 31st MEU. The training is designed to teach Marines how to safely exit a submerged helicopter. The 31st MEU provides a flexible force ready to perform a wide range of military operations, from limited combat to humanitarian assistance, throughout the Indo-Asia-Pacific region as the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU.
