Coast Guard kicks off day one of PAWSA Workshop

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – Rear Adm. Steven Poulin, commander Coast Guard First District, gives the opening remarks at the Hudson River Ports and Waterways Safety Assessment (PAWSA) Workshop at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, Nov. 7, 2017. In June 2017 Poulin directed the PAWSA to take place in response to the more than 10 thousand comments generated in an Advanced Notice to Public Rulemaking. The PAWSA is a long-standing process that will help improve the Coast Guard’s and connected stakeholders’ understanding of the safety and environmental risks on the Hudson River.
