171104-N-UX013-132 PACIFIC OCEAN (Nov. 4, 2017) Sailors, assigned to the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland (LSD 48), man the rails as the ship arrives at White Beach Naval Facility in Okinawa, Japan, to disembark Marines assigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd Marines, after the completion of Blue Chromite. Blue Chromite is an annual exercise held between the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps to strengthen interoperability and increase naval integration and proficiencies in amphibious warfare.
