Recruit Matthew LaLumiere, Platoon 1028, Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, strikes another recruit with the "killing" end of his pugil stick inside the Octagon, April 15, during Alpha Company's Crucible. This event, known as The Battle of Belleau Wood, pits recruits against each other in boxing and pugil stick matches in order to increase their confidence and warrior spirit.
