A quick reaction force team from the North Dakota National Guard’s 815th Engineer Company (Horizontal) force uses a Hydraulic Excavator, or HYEX, to place a one-ton sandbag on the riverside of a dike that needed re-enforcement on the Sheyenne River in Lisbon, N.D., April 19. About 40 North Dakota National Guard members are in the area patrolling dikes, maintaining a quick reaction force that responds to local emergencies, and performing traffic control points when necessary.
