According to the information sheet for the Route 66 Veterans Memorial Corridor organization, each tree planted will be accompanied by a marker in the form of a "dog tag" containing the veteran's name, branch of service, time served and the Global Positioning Satellite coordinates. This will give the exact location of the tree to those families wanting to find a specific tree
