Colt Tauterkus, 18, of Etna, Wyo., competes as part of a four-man team in a push-up competition, during the ROTC Recon event, in Laramie, Wyo., hosted by the Wyoming Army National Guard’s Recruiting and Retention Command, April 13, 2011. The two-day event introduced prospective ROTC cadets to the Wyoming Army National Guard, a career as an Army officer, the ROTC program and the Simultaneous Membership Program. The SMP allows cadets to train with Wyoming National Guard units, and gain some on-the-job training as officers.
