María Binelia Deras, a teacher a Centro Escolar Canton here, leads her class of students as U.S. Army Guard soldiers, of the 212th Engineer Company, Tennessee Guard, construct a schoolhouse in the distance. The Soldiers worked as partners in Beyond the Horizon 2011, a civic assistance and training exercise here. Deras said she was pleased that the U.S. and Salvadoran army were working together to construct schoolhouses in the area.
