U.S. Air Force Maj. Gen. Timothy Sharpy, Joint Forces Land Component Commander deputy commander in charge of air operations, talks to Wallace Santos, Aero Service Puerto president, at Mercedita Airport in Ponce, Puerto Rico, Oct. 8, 2017. Santos has provided support to the military team at the airport and helping enable them to serve as a joint center for air mobility operations, staging, loading and unloading cargo in support of disaster relief efforts in Puerto Rico. The Department of Defense is providing joint relief efforts to support the Federal Emergency Management Agency in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering as part of the overall whole-of-government response efforts.
