A military tiltrotor aircraft, identifiable as a CV-22 or MV-22 Osprey variant, is captured in flight over a large body of water under a partly cloudy sky. The aircraft has its rotors in horizontal (airplane) mode and is equipped with an aerial refueling probe at the nose. A drogue refueling basket on a hose is visible in the foreground, indicating an active or imminent air-to-air refueling operation.

A CV-22 Osprey begins to line up his aircraft to conduct Tilt-Rotor Air-to-Air Refueling September 14 in Sweden during the Swedish exercise Aurora 2017. Aurora 2017 was designed to increase the national and joint military capabilities necessary to protect the Swedish homeland and was the country’s largest military exercise in more than 20 years. More than 19,000 personnel from Sweden participated in the exercise alongside an estimated 1,500 personnel from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Lithuania, Latvia, Norway, and the United States.
