    3d Marine Expeditionary Brigade

Philippine Marine Brig. Gen. Alvin A. Parreno, commandant of the Philippine Marine Corps, and U.S. Marine Maj. Gen. Craig Q. Timberlake, commanding general of 3rd Marine Division, salute the U.S. and Philippine colors during a combined color guard for the KAMANDAG opening ceremony, at Marine Barracks Rudiardo Brown, Taguig, Philippines, Oct. 2. KAMANDAG is an acronym for the Filipino phrase "Kaagapay Ng Maddirigma Ng Dagat," which translates to "Cooperation of Warriors of the Sea." This bilateral exercise increases the ability of the U.S. and the Philippines to rapidly respond to terrorist threats or humanitarian crises. (U.S. Embassy Manila courtesy photo by Paul Putong)
