Philippine Marine Sgt. Alex Dulos, an infantryman with 1st Platoon, Alpha Company, 10th Battalion, and U.S. Marine Cpl. Kim Palmquist, an infantryman with Battalion Landing Team, 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, conduct Military Operations in Urban Terrain training at Colonel Ernesto P. Ravina Air Base, Philippines, October 3, 2017. Palmquist is a native of Omaha, Nebraska. Elements of BLT 3/5 are currently deployed in support of the 3rd Marine Expeditionary Brigade, participating in exercise KAMANDAG. Bilateral exercises such as KAMANDAG increase the ability of the United States and the Philippines to rapidly respond and work together during real world terrorist or humanitarian crises, in order to accomplish the mission, support the local population and help mitigate human suffering.
