The child and her mother, Maho, arrived at Travis during their voluntary relocation to the United States following the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on March 11. In support of Operation Pacific Passage, Travis personnel assisted more than 2,600 military dependents as they voluntarily relocated to the United States.
