Family members of Pfc. Ralph H. Johnson, Medal of Honor recipient, planted a tree in honor of him at the Gold Star Gardens at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Sept. 13. They were given a tour which gave them the opportunity to see where Johnson trained and graduated. Johnson received his award for sacrificing his life for another while serving as a reconnaissance scout in the Vietnam War, March 5, 1968.
