Valerie Miller, nurse midwife, Department of Women’s Health Services, William Beaumont Army Medical Center, holds a newborn baby while she conducts a group prenatal care session with parents of newborns to discuss concerns, expectations and answer any questions the couples may have regarding their birthing experience at WBAMC, Sept. 28. National Midwifery Week is celebrated Oct. 1-7 and recognizes midwives and their roles in women’s health. William Beaumont Army Medical Center is the only hospital in El Paso, Texas to provide 24/7 midwifery services for mothers in labor.
