Cpl. Tori K. Tadehara, left, a heavy equipment mechanic, Task Force Fuji, III Marine Expeditionary Force Forward, rolls a barrel of kerosene towards one of the drop points. Marines with Task Force Fuji, III MEF (Fwd), and Japanese Self-Defense Force soldiers unloaded four barrels of kerosene from a convoy here March 24. The convoy was supplying areas of Japan hardest hit by the earthquake and tsunami. Shelters, group homes and temporary Japanese Self-Defense Force bases established to conduct disaster relief and humanitarian assistance operations will receive the kerosene to be used as heating fuel. Throughout the three-day mission, the Marines and sailors of TFF delivered 140 barrels of kerosene while traveling more than 400 miles on mountain roads in temperatures that were frequently below freezing.
