Several U.S. Navy sailors in blue digital camouflage uniforms are working on a satellite communications dish mounted on the deck of a naval vessel. One sailor is elevated and directly handling the dish assembly while others observe and assist from below. An American flag and a red ladder are visible near the ship's superstructure in the background.

Petty Officer 3rd Class Michael Bridges, fire controlman, conducts preventive maintenance on a SPG-62 illuminator part of the MK-99 Aegis fire control system aboard the Arleigh-Burke class guided-missile destroyer USS Stout. Stout is in Augusta Bay loading supplies in support of Joint Task Force Odyssey Dawn. JTF OD is the U.S. Africa Command task force established to provide operational and tactical command and control of U.S. military forces supporting the international response to the unrest in Libya and enforcement of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1973. UNSCR 1973 authorizes “all necessary measures” to protect civilians in Libya under threat of attack by Qadhafi regime forces. JTF Odyssey Dawn is commanded by U.S. Navy Adm. Samuel J. Locklear, III.
