U.S. Navy HM1 Michael Downey and Philippine Navy SN2 Nae Cashmere Penus go over the Cardiopulminary resuscitation process during a hands-on cooperative health engagement in support of KAMANDAG at Tinib Elementary School in Casiguran, Aurora, Philippines, Sept. 25, 2017. KAMANDAG is an acronym for the Filipino phrase “Kaagapay Ng Mga Mandirigma Ng Dagat,” which translates to “Cooperation of Warriors of the Sea,” highlighting the partnership between the Philippine and United States militaries. Downey is a basic lifesaving skills instructor with the cooperative health engagement team, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, and is a native of Durham, North Carolina.
