More than 100,000 pounds of food, fuel, water and supplies have been delivered by Marines from Marine Medium Helicopter Squadron 265, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Air Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force, to areas of Japan affected by the earthquake and tsunami March 12-23. The government of Japan is leading the relief efforts conducted in Japan. The Marine Corps is ready and responding to requests by the Japanese government to support the humanitarian assistance.
