Lt. Col. Brian Clemens, deputy assistant chief of staff for G-4, Command Element, III Marine Expeditionary Force, completed the Tour de Tohoku, an annual charity bicycle tour along the coast of mainland Japan Sept. 17, 2017. Clemens, a veteran triathlete, participated in a 210-kilometer bike ride through areas affected by the Great East Japan earthquake and tsunami in 2011. Clemens’s unit, Combat Logistics Regiment 37, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III MEF in 2011, provided personnel, equipment and supplies in support of relief efforts during Operation Tomodachi.
