West Virginia Air National Guard Command Chief, Chief Master Sgt. James Dixon and Brig. Gen. Paige Hunter, Assistant Adjutant General, West Virginia Air National Guard, present Maj. Gen. Eric Vollmecke with a shadow box during his retirement ceremony at the 167th Airlift Wing, Martinsburg, W.Va., Sept. 16. Vollmecke served as the wing commander for the unit from 2004 to 2005. He served most recently as Deputy Director for Political-Military Affairs Africa for Strategic Plans and Policy, Joint Staff, the Pentagon, Washington, District of Columbia.
