Members of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force who re attached to Self-Defense Forces Central Hospital at Camp Mishuku, Tokyo, carry a U.S. Army Soldier, attached to Company C, 3rd General Support Aviation Battalion, 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, on a stretcher from an HH-60M Blackhawk helicopter during a medical evacuation training scenario as part of exercise Orient Shield 2017, Sept. 15, 2017. The exercise is designed to enhance U.S. and Japan combat readiness and interoperability at the tactical level while strengthening bilateral relationships and demonstrating U.S. resolve to support the security interests of friends and allies in the region.
