U.S. Central Command Air Forces Commander Lt. Gen. Gary North gets a first-hand look at a turret prototype conceived and developed by the USCENTAF Force Protection staff in concert with the Air Force Security Forces Force Protection Battlelab. The protective prototype's development and testing – in less than 80 days – was motivated by the death of Airman 1st Class Leebernard Chavis, who was killed by sniper fire in October 2006.
