170914-N-IM651-017 ST. THOMAS, U.S. Virgin Islands (Sept. 14, 2017) – Members of the Disaster Medical Assistance Team carry supplies to a temporary hospital built in the parking lot of Schneider Regional Medical Center. SRMC, the only hospital on St. Thomas, suffered significant damages from Hurricane Irma. The 185-mph winds caused the hospital's roof to collapse, resulting in flooding and overall destruction throughout the building. The U.S. military and civilian organizations continue to support the lead federal agency, FEMA, as well as the state and local authorities in disaster relief efforts.
