A puddle of swine blood is used as evidence in a mock crime scene during Capital Shield, Sept. 6. Special agents from both active and reserve components of the Army's Criminal Investigation Command gathered at Fort Belvoir, Virginia, September 5-9, 2017, for the exercise. Key training events included crime scene and intelligence management, hostage and crisis negotiation and evidence processing. The Special Agents were trained for real-world incidents and established mutual partnerships between U.S. Army components. (U.S. Army Reserve photo by Sgt. Audrey Hayes)
