California Air National Guard members of the 146 th Airlift Wing and Ukranian Armed Forces from
Starokonstantinov Air Base pose for a group photo following a warm welcome ceremony with the city’s
mayor. The Rapid Trident 17 exercise involves 1,650 service members from 15 allied and partner nations
across several locations in Ukraine. Starokonstantinov Air Base training will begin with a week of
situational training, classroom preparation, and hands-on aircraft familiarization, focusing on logistics
planning and preparation, followed next week by real-time aeromedical evacuation flights, a tactical
airdrop over a drop zone with actual supplies being delivered, and the dropping of 125 Ukrainian,
