They were searching for people in need of critical assistance in the wake of Hurricane Irma.The 106th Rescue Wing deployed 3 HH-60 Pave Hawk helicopters, 2 HC-130 search and rescue aircraft and 130 Airmen from Gabreski Air National Guard base in Westhampton Beach, N.Y. to Puerto Rico on Sept. 7, 2017 to conduct missions in the Virgin Islands.
