U.S. Marine Col. Michael V. Samarov, center, commander of Special Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force - Southern Command, presents Lance Cpl. Sawyer N. Grudzien, an aircraft maintenance support equipment electrician with the Aviation Combat Element, SPMAGTF-SC, with a Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal at Soto Cano Air Base, Honduras, Sept. 8, 2017. Grudzien was presented the award for responding when a Honduran aircraft crashed while attempting to land at the base, Aug. 16. The Marines and sailors of SPMAGTF-SC are deployed to Central America to conduct security cooperation training and engineering projects with their counterparts in several Central American and Caribbean nations.
