170908-N-NT795-682 SAN DIEGO (Sept. 8, 2017) Retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer Wendy Calderon, leads in prayer and moment of silence dedicated to honor Sailors who died onboard USS John S. McCain and USS Fitzgerald in separate collisions this year, during the observance of the 14th annual CPO Pride Day in San Diego onboard USS Midway museum. CPO Pride Day 2017 is the largest gathering of CPO and CPO Selectees across the Navy with 3,100 attendees, among 200 Navy Southwest Region Commands, which also included volunteer community service activities throughout the San Diego County area. Founded in 2003 by Force Master Chief Karen O'Connor and hosted this year by the Enlisted Leadership Foundation and focused on strengthening camaraderie between CPOs.
