CPO Pride Day 2017 theme is “Honor the Anchor, Treasure the Legacy” in recognition of the 100th year anniversary of the first female CPO, Chief Yeoman Loretta Perfectus Walsh, enlisted March 21, 1917 became the first female enlisted member across all branches and the recognition of the 50th year anniversary of the first Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy (MCPON) which started the appointment of Master Chief Gunners Mate Delbert Black on January 13, 1967.
